Who We Are
The Leap Centre is a local, community organisation that was established in 1994 as Cooinda Education and Play by a small group of parents. At that time there was limited help for children with autism, other disabilities and developmental concerns in the Wodonga and Albury region.
In May 1997, the group became an incorporated association and changed its name to The Learning Education and Play (LEAP) Centre for Early Intervention Incorporated.
In 2001, we moved into our purpose built premises at 23 Moorefield Park Drive, Wodonga, made possible by the generous support of local families and businesses. This is where you will find us today.
Our LEAP Centre team of experienced professionals specialises in early childhood intervention, helping children with autism, other disabilities and developmental delay.
We have speech pathologists, occupational therapists, a social worker, educator and group coordinator, offering you a complete and comprehensive early childhood intervention service. Our aim is to share our experience, knowledge and expertise with you to bring about positive improvements to your child’s development.
We are passionate about our own training and continued development and also offer practical placements to students from university and TAFE. Our vision is to offer students the experience of a supportive and caring professional learning environment to inspire them to choose to work in an early childhood intervention service.
We are proud of our strong team focus, where we support and encourage each other and celebrate our successes together. As a parent and child of our services, you are the most important part of our team and your needs are always at the centre of our recommendations.
We work closely with you to develop an action plan which meets your needs and helps your child develop the skills you have identified as the most important.
